Edwards - Harold J. "Red"

Harold J. "Red" Edwards, 51, for 12 years DeSoto-Plymouth dealer in Crawfordsville died suddenly Christmas morning at 11 o'clock at his home two miles north of the city. Death was attributed to coronary thrombosis.  A native of Montgomery County, Mr. Edwards was born July 30, 1901, near Waynetown the son of Mack and Rose Bard Edwards. On May 20, 1922, he married Zela Pierce, who survives.

Active as a Mason, Mr. Edwards attained the 32nd Degree and was a member of the Scottish Rite.  He was also a member of the Shrine, Eagles and the Murat Horse Patrol.  He was well known as a breeder of horses.

Survivors in addition to the widow, include a son, Max Edwards; the mother; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Dulin and a brother, Ernest Edwards; all of Crawfordsville. Also surviving is Ruth Reynolds, whom the Edwardses reared in their home and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Evangelical United Brethren Church.  The Rev. Bennett Fulp and Rev. John Servies will officiate.  Burial in Waynetown masonic Cemetery.  Friends may call at the family residence after 4 p.m. Friday. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour before the services.
